I am a first-time novelist writing a novel that is partly historical. It is over 100,000 words. Would the chances of securing an agent for it and getting it published be better by editing it to a maximum 80,000 words or submitting it as the first of two books? Thanks.

Hello! I still have my doubts, but I going to try. I wrote my first play back in 2021. The war in Ukraine postponed its realization in the theater. But there were in Poland and Germany. And in 2023, in Ukraine. Now I have a few more new plays and ideas, but I realize that I need a good agent to be successful. Or a competent friend who will advise me to do something else. I would be grateful for a response!
Hi Ihor,
I’m not knowledgeable re: literary agents who represent playwrights, unfortunately.
You’ll need to do an Internet search to find them.

Thank you, Mark! Could you clarify what you mean by saying I don’t necessarily need an editor? I tried the link you posted about editors for hire, manually typing it in and trying to click on it and it wouldn’t work. A 404 page came up. Thank you!
Hi Mar,
Not sure what the link issue was, try again here:

It’s working for me.
Copy/paste it if needed.
And what I meant is you might be successful without hiring an editor.
