I am the author of “One Sad Universe” published by Newman Springs Publ. of New Jersey. Not a scam like some non-trad. ones, but have had zero sales. My 2nd s/f book is 60% done, “Getting Harry To Mars.” Is this the former Prince? Yes, it is. My phone: 614 440 9602 I am very interested. Thanks
Hi David,
I’m glad you got a legitimate publisher for that one.

Hello,
I’ve always read that, unlike the synopsis, the query should never include the ending of the book. However, I recently read that it’s ok for the query to reveal how the story ends.
I realize different agents like different query presentations, but this could be a major spoiler for an agent and too big a mistake for a writer to make, either way.
It’d be so helpful if you could clarify this for me. Thank you.
Hi Claude,
Best not to reveal the ending in the query, though you should in the synopsis.

I inquire regarding African American agents. However, your list did not contain any.
Hi Laura,
There are 22 African American literary agents at the moment, and you find them in our database (see below how to access it). Once you’re in the directory, look for the dropdown menu. “African American” is third on the list.
Things you might find helpful, if you haven’t seen and/or used them yet, including the directory, are below.
