Hello and thank you for this opportunity to ask a question. You’ve provided a host of information for newbies, but I found one entry disturbing. I’m a self-published author with three books available via Amazon and other online retailers. However, one of your features addressed it being harder to get a literary agent if you’re self-published. Is that a “hard and fast” position or is there flexibility? If the author owns the rights to their work, does that make a difference? Thank you.

You can likely get some in your local area to stock the book, and one or more might even arrange a book signing…especially if you can tell the bookstore that you can get a fair amount of people to attend. 🙂

How to get an entire manuscript in body of an Email.
Hi Shirley,
Copy and paste, but unless it’s a children’s picture book, you shouldn’t do that. Literary agents don’t want books that are longer pasted in their entirety into an email.
