Good morning,
I have a six chapter, 14,000 word, fantasy mystery novella almost complete with a part 2 started. I’m inquiring on the best query for a literary agent or publisher.
My question – How well do novella books do?
Thank you,
Sheila L Rutter
Hi Sheila,
Most literary agents will only accept full-length novels, so keep that in mind.

In 1998, I was invited to be on the Joan Rivers radio show on WNEW in New York. I was invited to discuss my new Sci-Fi novel, Voice in the Mirror. It was a best seller and became the bible of Marshall Applewhite the leader of the Heaven’s Gate cult. The followed me on my book tour all over the west coast. I am the person who pulled off the biggest UFO hoax in world history. The show was such a success that Joan asked me to come back the next day. The second show was better than the first. Joan asked if I had an agent and did not. She offered to call Mel Berger at WME. He spoke with her and agreed to meet me. #0 minutes later a limo picked me up and brought me to meet Mel. Our meeting went so well he offered to represent me. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control (heart attack) I was unable to keep in touch with Mel. Things have changed and here I am 5 books and 20 screenplays later with a new TV show (Rom-Com) about to be shot in New Mexico. I need an agent. Sam Mannetti at Stage 32 said I should reconnect with him. I would like his contact information so I might send him an e-mail request.
