How is it not conflicted, when an agent no longer wants to read work, but also wants the agency listed. You should be compelled to take one or the other, but not both, and why is it that the agent insists we follow some arcane set of rules, when WE ARE THE ONES PAYING the agent.
It is not the other way around.
Excuse me, but I’ll interview you. Not you me.
Hi Tim,
Did you have a bad experience with an agent, or agents in general? I’m trying to figure out what you meant and how, if possible, I can help. If you’re annoyed by literary agent requirements and guidelines, I get that. Especially since they vary a lot. Good agents treat authors with respect, as equals. Sometimes they forget themselves and/or act badly because they get overwhelmed and more submissions then they can deal with, but that’s no excuse. Hopefully the next one you hear from is decent and/or good. And if you’re fortunate and get more than one agent interested, then you’ll absolutely be able to interview them. I hope you get to that point.

Hi there,
I have approached a new publisher, based in New Caledonia. They like my book which I emailed to them, and have sent me a generic author/publisher agreement. Nothing has been completed as yet, but many of the clauses don’t apply (in my opinion). I would like a publishing agent to review this agreement or the final one (when I receive it), and see whether this agreement fully supports me. At that point, I would ask that agent to represent me. Do you have any agents who are prepared to do this?
