I have thirteen novels published with a pretty successful indie publisher that has been in the industry for over a decade. However, they do not deal with other rights such as audio, movie, etc. Is it advisable to approach a literary agent asking for representation related to overseeing all other book-related rights? There are several authors with this publisher who are represented by literary agents, but I am currently agentless and have no idea how to shop the rest of those things out. Just not sure how that works. Thank you!

It will be difficult to get a literary agent for just that. Meaning, agents will want your next book(s) as well. They likely won’t just take on the subsidiary rights published by another publisher unless you have major sales.

I self-published a novel on Amazon a few years ago which I wanted to make into a trilogy. It has sold well, but not exceptionally so. I’ve since decided that I would like to rebrand and retitle my book, making it a stand-alone story. I do not wish to self-publish again, but would like to be published by an acclaimed house.
