I am getting ready to query agents for my book “Daddy’s Little Girl” a thriller/romance rtevolving around Formula One racing.
• When top model Kelsey meets Mercedes’ lead driver in pursuit of his sixth World Driving Championship, sparks fly until her perverse father who, unknown to her, is deeply embedded in international crime, enlists the aid of his dark resources to put an end to the relationship at any cost in hopes of satisfying his incestuous fantasies.
The problem is comps. There are none in book form other than full-on Romance, The best comparison I have would be “F1 the Movie” or Netflix’s series “Drive to Survive”. Is that going to be a problem?

Hi Mark,
Am I write in thinking that it is best not to look for an illustrator of my Picture Book, but to submit a query for the manuscript alone and leave it to the agent to find an illustrator, should I be successful in my query. And what if I find an illustrator who is not normally used by a specific agent that I am querying, but who I would love to have work on my book? Many thanks
Hi Liz,
Agreed, re: waiting.
And…
If you get an agent, you can/should talk with them about illustrators at that point.
Agents handle that differently, so best to wait and see on that front.
Have a great day. 🙂

I’m searching for a Military Fiction literary agent. The website seems to be stuck.
Hi Alan,
It looks like you unsubscribed from our community on Aug 26, 2025 03:06 AM EDT.
You can still access the agent directory and everything else we offer, using the links in previous emails you’ve received.
I’m not sure if the system will let me subscribe you again but, if you would like that, I can try.
Let me know,
– Mark
