I am still q sending queries out, each query in preference to an agent/agency. Only improvement is now I receive no’s instead of silence. I have zero. Less than zero $ my memoir THUMB LUCK is complete edited and proofread. How can I cross the threshold to become published if needed give up more % ? Why does it seem one’s writing have so little value when it comes to the marketing costs?

I’m glad you staying with it, and hopefully one of those no’s will soon be followed by a yes. You don’t need to spend money to get an agent, so don’t worry about that.
