Are there any literary agents whose specialty is film/movie projects help a self-published author get his crime fiction book converted into a movie?
Hi Alan,
If you have great sales and/or if you have another book(s) for the agent, you might be able to get an agent to help with that.
Without one of those things, it will be difficult.

I am an author/screewriter looking for an agent to represent me for purposes of pitching to film producers. I have written a historical drama based on a book adaptation for a biography that I self-published.
Does your agency represent screenwrters or only authors?
Hi Jan,
This isn’t a literary agency, unfortunately.
I help authors get literary agents.
Also, I’m mostly on the book side of things.
That said, you might find the following helpful:

I have contacted you before and you answered my question Thank you but now I will be on point and direct I have completed manuscript A memoir. It has been edited read and re read by other author and qualified persons since page one. No I do not know my word count In physical form it is single spaced size 12 and 71-75 pages. Depending on who is printing. I have a standard query letter and I also have sent query letters free form. I dare not go over my story due to how I can ruin what has already been liked. This memoir is a journey. Copyright under the title Abandoned but I have the alternate title Thumb Luck. Both fit. How does one sell themselves of how they were sent from the beauty of the redwoods and underage on a one way ticket in 1974 to Belfast N Ireland with promises of support and a return ticket when they become of age. Only to be left without further contact because the mother moves and I have no longer know where, How does one sell themselves. How would you ?
Hi Tina,
You need to figure out the word count. Needs to be 50-90k words. Page count not helpful because depending on the formatting, that can change. The word count doesn’t. Agents will want to know what that is. I’m not able to help here with the other question though, unfortunately, as that’s not something anyone will be able to give you an answer to, without knowing quite a bit more about the book, more than you’d be able to share on a Q&A page like this. You could brainstorm that with a writers group near you, or online. Or, of course, you could talk 1-on-1 with someone about it, who does coaching/consulting. There are a lot of people that do that, including me.
