It was suggested that several beta readers give a readers-eye view of my first novel. Indeed, I had several friends and a few strangers who read and reviewed my work. I received a resounding good, but several comments and suggestions came back with a consistent theme.
My question lies in the edits and addressing of these responses. How “perfect” should my submission be? And how complete. I have the whole novel, about 65K words, and I am going through sharpening dialogue and increasing pace and intensity.
Should it be perfect, good enough, or a work in progress before submitting?
Your opinion and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Either perfect or somewhere between perfect and good enough.
Just good enough probably won’t cut it.
And, anything less than good enough certainly won’t.
