I published a children’s story a few years ago with a none traditional publisher. Since that time I have received email and calls from people [that number by now in the hundreds] using very sophisticated methods to impersonate legitimate production company producers and publishing agents. Fortunately, I have some contacts who helped me sort out the phony movie producers, but no one to help with agents.
Most recently I received an email from someone who said he is working as an intern for a very well known literary agent in New York and after a follow up discussion on the phone about the children’s story that seemed different I have a measure of interest. The call was about me “signing on” with them as my agent. Because I have had so many imposters wanting to “help” me advance the children’s story I’m skeptical. How can I validate the person who called is actually representing the real well known literary agent?

Hello.
