I’ve been approached by a Toronto company called Omnibusworks. Are they legit or a scam? I have multiple unpublished but completed and edited works but am fed up trying to find a legitimate traditional publishing agent.
Hi Tom,
Read this, if you haven’t seen it yet, might help you figure out if anything you get from anyone in publishing is legitimate: https://getaliteraryagent.com/how-much-does-a-literary-agent-cost/#alert.

I’d prefer paying you to find me an agent, rather than paying you to give me advice on how to find an agent.
Hi John,
i appreciate the offer, but I don’t have a service like that at the moment. It’s a good idea though. That said, I don’t know of anyone who does it that way. So, in case you decide to query yourself at some point, here are my resources to help you get a literary agent, just in case:

Is Eric Alterman still repping writers. I had to cancel our representation agreement several years back because of a health issue. Can’t find any info about him. Have written & self published 6 books since. Worked on a series. Have recently finished what I believe is an important book that needs an agent. I thought Eric was great and I wanted to contact him.
Hi Lori,
I’m not sure if the Eric you’re asking about is the one I knew, as I don’t believe he’s been an agent for more than 20 years at this point. Maybe a different Eric?
Either way…

My book is self-published as of December 2022. It’s doing fair considering I’ve done very little marketing, It is time for an agent that will work to get this book in front of traditional publishers. Is it better to submit a traditional query or to use an email address for a free-hand submission. The book is available on amazon in paperback or Kindle, Barnes and Noble and a few smaller on line book sellers. It can be found through a Google search as well.
Hi Jay,
You have to follow each literary agent’s guidelines.
They’ll tell you if they accept email, postal mail, or online form submissions.
Some accept more than one method, and you can choose.
Also…
It’s (usually) harder to get a literary agent for a book that’s already been published.
However, it is possible.
