I have completed a book, printed and published by self-publishing company. Unfortunately engaged scam marketing company in US, wasted lot of money and time. Have been advised book has great potential, now seeking an agent who will find a traditional publisher for the book. The genre — (non-fiction,spirituality/ science, has become very popular reading over last few years. Need contact with agent specialising in this genre.

My question is based on your unpleasant experience ending with the FBI:
Is it a bona fide offer when a publisher offers a Hybrid Contract to an author without an agent? I am new to this system and concerned about paying thousands of dollars.
