I have a MG Fantasy novel that was given a starred review by Kirkus as well as being named a book of the month & a Book of the Year. We self-published, not realizing there were other options. Despite the amazing review from Kirkus and the raves from kids who read the book (see youtube.com search “Matthew Patterson Books”) as well as kudos from film producers and Major Talent Agencies, we can’t seem to get a lit agent interested. Is it because we self-published ?(with ZERO marketing or publicity – the tour we had set up with B&N got cancelled by Covid…)
